Finally, there is MP itself. A four man team with two V's at their disposal. A like team, the player team, identical in composition to the aforementioned They're bolt-hole is some 25 to 30 kms west of Comox, nestled in the rugged hills and mountians of the area, at the extent of "Forbidden Plateau Road" love that name!

Last but certainly not least is the large 12 man team situated beneath Vancouver Island University's Nanaimo campus. This last team is more Science team than recon, and was originally made up of 3 combat vets, 8 Phd's, and one gifted tween-ager son of one of the PhDs , equiped with an APC, and a much more extensive bunker complex with its own lab, sleeping quarters and medical area.

It was also intended to have access to the above ground facilities, but that was on the 5 as opposed to 80 year plan. This Sci-Recon team will prove to be the source of numerous missions and much information.

Man, can't wait for this weekend!!! Nice work on the game-world background. Oh, one more thing The year the party team was frozen is CE -- our soundtrack being the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's -- and reason for the War was that some powerful Soviets foresaw the collapse of the USSR's econmy, and so seized power.

Gorbie never happened, and the USSR developed an aggressive, resource grabbing foreign policy, which the Americans their Allies obviously didn't take kindly to.

Fierce conventional warfare led to small nuclear exchange, to eventually be followed by a bio-chemcial attack, t obe quickly followed by a full out nuclear exchange as the human race approached the mid's. Thus concludes my cheery thought for the day!

Belated thanks, Ty! To kill some time I thought I'd share some further notes on my MP zombies As far as the origin goes, that remains a mystery. Suffice it to say, there is a rational explanation for their existence. They certainly are not immune to the physical effects of damage, eg. So long as the head is intact, whatever amount of functional zombie it is attached to will keep coming. As for the head; any damage to the head that wouldn't kill a living person won't kill a zombie.

And any damage to the head that would kill a living person will also kill a zombie. A zombie CAN be stunned by sufficient head trauma as per a living human, but they cannot be knocked out. Whatever brought about the creation of the zombies caused their skin to harden to an almost leathery condition, affording them Armour Class B and substantially slowing their decay process; such that many of the first to rise some 70 years ago are still shambling around today Unarmed combat is ill-advised.

In combat zombies will attempt to grapple and bite A successful grapple will add half of the zombies body weight to a victims carrying capacity.

Where this maxs a victim out, they must make an DEX feat d20 or crumple beneath the zombies weight. Those zombies found within and up to 2 kms beyond a 2 megaton nuclear crater will emit relatively low levels of radiaition.

These highly irradiated zombies tend to glow blue under dark conditions. Zombies are also the source of any number of contagious diseases commonly associated with decomposing human corpses more research and thought needed , and fresher zombies are often used by mutant flies to lay their eggs in. Mutant fly larva can be up to several centimeters long!

Anyway, as such, it is not uncommon to find mutant flies amidst large populations of zombies. However, if one doesn't contract it from face-to-face contact, they are immune. Those who contract the "virus" show no effects until killed by some other means, at which point they will rise within 20 - 80 minutes.

The "virus" is not detectable by the Projects CBR, and it is not effected by any of the issued antidotes. Presumably, those who have proven immune to the "virus" hold the secret of any possible antidote. Campbell River likely has it's fair share as well, but as for the more rural districts, zomibes are few and far between here, as the smaller more isolated populations allowed the folk to respond faster to fewer instances and aculturalize themselves to the phenom.
