Why is my ps4 not pre downloading games?

This can happen with any game on your device or related download. Next choose easy. After following the Onscreen directions go ahead and Test the Internet Connection. If all is well it should check everything and Pass. If it fails run through the setup again and you should be good.

Switch back to WiFi connection which you were probably using already. Now when you go back to Notifications and look at downloads you should see that your connection is working just fine and your Games or updates should now be working. This is what worked for me. You can pre-order some products on PlayStation Store before they are released. To pre-order, search for a game and select Pre-Order. Select the timer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to adjust auto-download for that game.

When you pre-order a game, your wallet or payment method will be charged. If you change your mind before the content is released you'll be able to cancel the pre-order and receive a refund.

If the game is released and the content hasn't started to download to your PlayStation console, you'll be able to cancel and request a refund within 14 days of making the pre-order.

To find the release date of a pre-order, search for the game on PlayStation Store. Sleep mode downloads turned on, all power saving settings set so it can turn itself on from sleep mode, can connect to the internet in sleep mode, and whenever I download from the PSN store on a PC it will go into my "Download Queue" but never starts downloading until I go home and boot up my PS4.

Never had a problem with it myself. The other day I "purchased" the CoD BO2 beta from my phone and when I got home it was waiting for me on the dashboard. When I download from my phone to the PS4 it always works. But when I pre order a game it never auto downloads. My problem usually is that I actually have to manually start the download, even if it says it will auto-download.

Also, if there is a day one patch, I actually have to be logged in to have it update. None of this works from Rest Mode usually. I would say there are only one or two times it all worked correctly and I've purchased probably about 10 games using the system.
